Fourteen Favorite Books

Ok, here’s a list of my favorite books (at least this week). I started to rank them but never could figure out which was my most favorite, so I put them in alphabetical order. Why did I choose fourteen? Well, that’s the average number of books stacked up beside my bed waiting to be read.
Plus, since my three favorite things to do are writing, reading and eating, the links will take you to an easy recipe for a food found in that book. I was going to tell you what the food has to do with the story, but I’d rather you read the book and find out for yourself!
Do you have a favorite book that has a food in the story? Write and tell me about it!

1. Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko (recipe: LemonCake)
2. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery
3. Betsy and the Emperor by Staton Rabin
4. Children of the Lamp: The Akhenaten Adventure by P. B. Kerr (recipe: Special Special)
5. Dealing with Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede (recipe: Cider)
6. Doughnut Head by Sue Stauffacher
7. Dragon Song by Anne McCaffery
8. Ella Enchanted by Carson Levine (recipe: Curing Soup)
9. Frannie K. Stein, Mad Scientist: Lunch Walks Among Us by Jim Benton
10. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling
11. The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
12. The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
13. Pyromancer by Don Callander
14. Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie S. Tolan
