Natalie’s Lemon Cake

  Ingredients Directions
  2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup butter
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8x4 inch loaf pan. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a large bowl. Blend in egg, butter and milk. Mix until well blended. Add flavorings and mix thoroughly. Pour batter in prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when poked into the middle of the cake. Cool completely, and then turn out of pan.
  Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 Tablespoon milk


Stir lemon juice into powdered sugar, and then add enough milk to make a thick liquid. Mix until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake.
